Greetings: Im a newbie around here. I've been an avid PW Lionel train collector/operator for over 50 years. Was wondering if there were any more Lionel train nuts around here. If anyone has questions or comments about PW Lionel trains maybe we could get a thread started. Have a great day evryone. Lionelbob

Hi Lionelbob

I am a huge Lionel Train nut. My father traded a bunch of Zane Gray books to my cousin resulting in my possesion of a Lionel steam engine and train set.

I sill have that train set. I am looking at building my layout now that the basement is finished!

Why don't you go ahead and register with eBid and start your posts on the trains? Free to register and no trouble at all.

I agree. Register and list. It can't hurt.

To be honest, it doesn't seem to help much either. I've listed several post-war Lionel items at prices less than I could get at eBay and haven't sold a single one.

However, buy being active on eBid, I have made a few terrific purchases.

I may stop listing certain categories of items on eBid until its US presence grows, but I will be checking out the items for sale daily.

That then becomes a Catch 22 situation.... you will stop listing (some) items until the US presence grows, but the U.S presence wont grow if there are not enough items listed by U.S. sellers and around and around it goes.

Lionel Model Railway........................

Out of 95 Lionel Model Railway items listed in that category (with various sellers) there is not even one single listing with the keywords Model Railway in the title.

Doing a search for Lionel Model Railway brings up one big fat 0

eBid needs to insert a 'head banging' smiley............. I need to insert one right here, in fact I would use two!

Lionel Model Train brings up a big fat 0 as well.......... another head bang smiley needed.

Keywords, keywords, keywords, keywords, keywords, keywords, keywords, keywords, keywords...... its not rocket science.

Hi.
The PW means Post War.
To establish the correct item have a look here
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lionel+pw+1&client=firefox-a&hs=uSU&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&channel=sb&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=CQ5zU4mYJ-LF7AbN1YHYAw&ved=0CDsQsAQ&biw=1666&bih=958

Then if you see it you can then research its value.

Hope this helps.

Nice Lionel trains. Have you Googled the exact print details on bottom of train. I'm not really into trains but consider it a fascinating hobby.
