Well... A certain member advised me to open new stores and utilise my 5 store allocation. Method in her madness...bumps up the number of stores in the stamp section. Last week there were 327 stores, now only 128. I have held back...am glad I didn't start scanning more stamps in. When I have looked at other stores...the ones remaining, I noticed the state of the items...perfs missing, tears in the paper, in fact I wouldn't dream of buying them, let alone including them in my own collection. Unfortunately, I have decided to pull out as well. Most stamps that have been listed are cheap and chatty, with the odd exception being overpriced by Ebid members.
The next thing I'd like to moan about, is that one person made me a banner for my store. It was an excellent banner, that everyone could read...oblong in shape. A few days later and it was destroyed by the system making it circular and becoming illegible (unreadable). By this time my estimations of Ebid had dropped even further.
I was up at 4am this morning, looking for my store....ha it had gone...could'nt find a link to click on to it.
I complained about this on "The Kitchen Table" forum...16 hours later....and not one person or more have replied, also the ADMINISTRATORS, have not replied as to whether a fix could be made.
With all due respect, I only had 47 listings (max).
Reading posts here on the Forums on a daily basis, I find that it seems to be a oneupmanship of a few posters on the forums... something I'm NOT into and I feel that backbiting and bitching between sellers is NOT going to be fruitful, as it is turning potential customers / buyers and sellers away.
Unfortunately, this is my last post...quite a topical name for a thread being it Remembrance Day, here in the UK.
I'll remember that I spent £40+ on an auction site that is going downhill fast! So, with that in mind....I,m not going to waste anymore time and am now outta here!!!!

Not true.

I have a stamp shop so I regularly check to see the shops that are currently online.
For the last couple of years there have been 7 pages of UK stamp shops.
There are 20 shops per page so there has not been more than 140 shops online in the UK.

I also keep an eye on store numbers, here are some actual figures from eBid UK site.

19 Oct 134 Stamp shops
2 Nov 132 Stamp shops
today 128 Stamp shops.

As for your shop banner, did you upload it on your About Me page?, that could account for the compression, it needs to be square.
It's the right size to upload for your shop. They need different sized images for each.

If other people are selling poor quality stamps and overpriced stamps then I would say that a business opportunity is staring you in the face!
Provide good quality stamps at competitive prices to be better than the opposition!

About no responses from members, not everyone is here each day, in fact only a tiny % of sellers write on the forums.

MPS16 has got it right about the number of stores. I think you need more than 47 listings to get consistent sales.

About the store banner being round in the store:

This happened to me as well and I received assistance on the forums where I was advised to go to my desktop and change my screen resolution to 1400 x 1050

This fixed it for me.

If I remember correctly, changing the resolution resolves many website layouts especially for iphones, ipods etc.

Speaking of "number of stores" and all that...

As a stamp collector, I would find it very useful if it were possible to see ALL the stamp stores across the subdomains on a single page... rather than have to look at each country's listings individually. Anyone know if there's a way to do that?

Cheers,
Peter
