Comparing their guidelines to Ebid's list of approved countries in relationship to shipping coins, banknotes, etc. internationally: Hi Burgyeb, An interesting submission which I will reply to as fully as I can. Before I do, where can I find the eBid guidlines you refer to above? Clive
Hi Clive: First, thank you for your gracious offer to be friends, which I have gladly accepted. You can find the eBid guidelines by 1) Go to "Help Tab"; 2)Select #3 "Bidding... On Auctions" ; 3)Go "Consumer Rights & Business Seller Responsibilities" (#13) 4) Go to #7 "Delivery" which states "You may generally not include standard terms requiring your customer's to bear the cost of insurance pending delivery." Note: I only was able to locate this statement today; however, I personally removed statement "strongly recommend buyer insurance as seller will not be responsible for purchases that are lost or damaged during shipment" from my auctions after eBid removed that statement from my "About Me Pages" ; I have also read discussion about not being able to make buyers pay for insurance. I was always used to including that as a responsible piece of advice to buyers. ~Ava~
Vice versa... Many Many Countries have export limits for their own currency.... averaging around $300.00 I would not worry.. to much about this subject. Thousands of coins and banknotes cross borders monthly be it by sale or trade from one to another. Been going on since at least 1970.
Hi FBNeNotes: Thanks for your input. I'm not worried about the actual selling or trading of coins, precious metals, banknotes, etc. My concern is more along the lines of wanting to be able to provide the most cost effective products to over seas customers; without incurring financial loss on my part. A win - win situation.
All items to be delivered outside of the USA(if your a USA seller)should be marked and stressed in a offereing as... sold at Buyers risk. Unless they are insured if available and cost effective for buyer. All my offerings always say... at buyers risk if mailed to outside the USA. 35 Years, never 1 problem
Hhmmm! Very interesting! 35 years without a problem; I'll have to give that some thought!
Packing.. whatever it may be-whatever you use.. MUST BE NEAT and SECURE. The #1 Problem I have with sellers, be they amatuer or 40 Year professionalss.. is Sloppy packing, I never return if seller knows no better.
I don't appreciate that either; it's as if they don't care about their product or the buyer.
I updated my auctions taking into account some of the specs on shipping but still a little foggy on some areas. Oh well.
October 22, 2008 For the record... trading at Oil $69.41 per barrel Gold $754.50 per ounce Silver $9.76 ........................ excellent for the consumer, another story for investors-speculators. I can see Oil settling in at $65.00, Gold $750.00, Silver $9.00 Settling in means... price-range for next 3 Months give or take 5%
