hi for years i have paid to have norton internet security on my computer it is now due for renewal and they are asking for £54 :eek:
i do have addaware and malware which are free are these enough or should i pay to renew ? any advice most welcome :)

There are good free firewalls and anti-virus software tools out there. There's no reason why you shouldn't uninstall Norton and install your choice of free software.
No, Norton is not essential as there are plenty of freebies out there that do a much better job!

p.s. I use Avast! Anti Virus, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, CWShredder & C_Cleaner
I find the best antivirus/malware programs are
AVG 8.0 free edition and Uniblue's programs, with uniblue you do have to pay for them but its £29 per program and its a once of fee every year you just download the updates for free. They have spyeraser, registry booster, Speed up my PC and Driver Scanner
I use Avast, and its free.
There is also Comodo Internet Security - Its free and comprises a Firewall and Virus Checker.
Ditch Norton straight away, but if you still want it, dont bother with the upgrades, buy the latest version it is usually much cheaper.
