Problems with variations.
I have had one of my listings removes as it was deemed a duplicate.
I also understand about multiple item listing.
What i'm having trouble with is trying to list an item that has many colour variations.
I have added the pictures to the listing of the different colours available, but i can't seem to be able to get it where a buyer can select from a drop down box which colour they like.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did eBid add the ability to list with variations as you describe? If so, I missed that enhancement. Last I had heard eBid staff was working on it.
Cheers.

Why don't you have many listings, each with the specific colour?
List your first, and use list similar changing the colour.
Apart from anything else, it gives your items more exposure

Think it's still on the 'To Do' list as don't recall seeing any mention of it in the updates/newsletters.

Because, for some of us, listing our items like this would take far too long. I have over 300 items I can list. For at least 50% of those items, I have a choice of 9 sizes, 25 colours and the choice of a normal or reverse cut option. That's a total of 450 variations. Multiply that by at least 150 = 67,500. Let's say only 5 minutes per listing = 337,500 minutes, or 5625 hours, or 234 days.
And that doesn't include the other 150 items (or new items) I want to list.
That is why some of us don't list each variation individually.
Re: Problems with variations.
From what you tell us, you have 3 choices:
- Place your listings to comply with eBid rules and have a chance of selling something
- Place numerous duplicate listings which break the rules and may lead to the termination of your membership.
- Place one listing describing the item and mentioning that it is available the following colours and sizes. And ask people to state the colour and size they would like
It is entirely up to you which option you follow.
Surely if you have a dislike of listing items for sale you are on the wrong site.

Re: Problems with variations.
I have a related question. I have two very old collectible tins, one in very good condition and one . . . shows its age. I'd like to list these separately, at different prices, of course. But, I don't know how to word the two titles to avoid the duplicate listing problem. The word "Corrosion" does not seem quite right to use in the title. The picture and description will make that clear.
Will eBid allow me to simply add numbers? No. 1 and No. 2, for example.

Yes! - simply add #1, #2, #3 etc. to your title. Check out my gemstone store for numerous examples. I've never had a problem with this.
