quesion... about Edward VII??
In my quest for postcards to put in my shop, I've come across one which raises a question
I have a Postcard here with HALFPENNY STAMP of Edward VII, Postmark dated July 12th 1911. You might say so.....
It's just that he died on 6th May 1910. Over 1 Year before!! Was this normal Practice or is this an oversight, error or what??
Any body know?? I enclose a photo of said object
Re: quesion... about Edward VII??
Just someone using up a stamp they had lying around I expect. I had a parcel a few weeks ago with a load of stamps from the 1970's on it. Stamps are still valid for Royal Mail unless the currency had changed, e.g. when it changed to decimal.

This is perfectly normal. Stamps remain valid even after the death of a monarch. For example, I have a piece of an envelope which has a halfpenny stamp of George V, Edward VIII and George VI.
