You can sell stuff :D
Oh! and welcome to eBid! :D
I had to come back and apologise if I sounded flippant. My off the wall humor sometimes gets the better of me. Hope you don't hold it against me. :) Fortunately most eBid members on here are much more helpful with their advise, as you can see below. :D
Hi Caljack, A warm welcome to eBid. If you are seller+ you can open 5 stores for free with no extra charges so I would say that is a really good advantage if you specialise in selling several different types of item as you can keep them grouped together.
It makes it easier for your buyers to find a batch of your items together plus some buyers will seach for items via the stores page so it makes sense to use them as they are available free. :)
Hello Caljack & a huge welcome to ebid :D
Stores work differently here....as opposed to feebay
Try and think of them as just extra free categories where all your items are showcased together ;)
Plus, once you have a minimum feedback of +1, they will have as much chance as anyone else's to be a "featured store" on the front page :D
If you have a lot of items to sell, or are likely to have, take a little time & plan your store(s) ie: themes, categories etc.etc.
Plus, make good use of the "my defaults", they can save you a whole lot of time & energy when you list ;)
Hope this helps
Yvonne x
Hi caljack68 welcome to eBid, OK to help you get started add a signature link to your posts so us nosey lot have an easy link to your items whilst reading the forums, read this thread http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100959 then fill in some info on Your About Me Page so people know about you as a seller. Have a look at mine so you can see the sort of thing you can do. Perhaps buy a few things to kickstart your feedback over here, always looks better than a zero, ( I have some nice cheap prints to get you started :) ) have a look at my listings to see how I dealt with the zero feedback problem when I started.
Then email all YOUR (not Greedbay's they are a venue, they keep telling us) customers, and tell them where you are, give them a link to your listings. Grab the records while you can and from paypal records as well. That should keep you busy for a bit, and shout if you need a hand. Additional body parts incur a small fee Oh and finally read the forums there is a lot of useful information on here.

HI cal jack and a warm welcome to eBid.
Follow Ken and Cornish maid's advice.
I have only one store as you see....it sells allsorts. :)
For me one store is OK so far but others like to separate maybe private and business listings... or a charity and another..or even different types of goods... it's what will work best for you. You can always change things if they don't work.
When you have made a start listing in your sore or stores make a store banner that can be used as a link..... put it into your signature for use here on the forums and maybe as a signature on your emails to advertise your existance.:D...Also we are a nosy lot and like to see what's on sale here..
Do some buying here as well. The buying process will help you learn how it works from the buyer's point of view...essential if you are going to sell too. It also bumps up your feedback here. ( that works just like greedbay except you can leave honest feedback here with no repercussions)
I could go on as there is much for you to learn... but do use the help boards look in ALL of them to get a feel for the site. If you get stuck come back in here and there is always someone here that will help out.
All the very best and happy selling here :)
Diana
