store wont load?????

Hello I made a banner on cooltext.com and uploaded it as the first thing to do when making your store, then I chose the catagory as toys and hobbies and some background colors and clicked the upload but it then says error, bla bla bla, no banner or catagories, but I did all that, what is wrong?

in section 3 it wants store catagories..I already entered toys and hobbies in section 2, what do I do in section 3?

Hii. i'm not sure what you mean by 'section 3? is this when you're setting up your store? or when you're listing an item?

When you set up a store you have the option to add catagories and sub sub catagories within your store ( this is different to what catagory you put your store in). If you look at one of my stores 9 see signature link) you'll see how i've used catagories and sub catagories.

When you're listing an item by default it will show on the main search, and you can choose to display the item in your store too. The listing template llets you select which of your store catagories ( see abpve) to place it in.

Opening a new store, I am new to eBid and I want to put some auctions on, yet I want them in my store, so I am STUCK trying to get a store going: When I click the "update store details" in section 2 it comes up with an error saying I need to load banner or title or description or catagories, so I go back and I have done all that, and my banner is within the pixel range it is 258x44. I do not understand what section 3 is? How do you input in section 3? Section 3 says "Add to parent catagory" there is a blank space, so I entered "Collectibles" in the space, then under it is a defualt that says "No parent catagory yet", then there is a space under that.....can someone please tell me what to put in the spaces so I can move forward to list some auctions, been trying to analize this all day, very annoyed with it....I'm so so so confused on how to get this all going.

Step by step for adding store categories, this example is a bookstore,
so I've put the Store into the category
Books Comics & Magazines
Books

If you want to add more than one parent category click the plus sign next to Add parent Category


I've added 2 in this example 1 for fiction 1 for non fiction.



You will then see your store has 2 Categories



Next post has adding sub categories if you want them

In my example bookstore I want to add a number of fiction books, I could put them all in my fiction category, but it might get too large, so I've decided to split fiction into 3 categories

Adding a subcategory is pretty much the same as adding a category,
except you need to choose one of the categories you've just added to put them under, in this case Fiction.



When you've clicked Add you will see your store now has two categories & 3 subcategories.


Then you should be able to put your store online, then you will see, your bright shiny new store ready to add your listings too.

Quickie Q how do you save screen shots like yours. (sorry for butting in but need to know)

Print/Prt Scn key on the keyboard, if you've got a fancy one you might have to switch off the extra functions first (Mine has an F key),
that copies it to the clipboard, then you paste it into whatever you want, usually a graphics program.

Thanks alot, I was able to add new catagories, and I checked online and and then clicked "update Store Details" and now it says online but has the same page where you update stuff, how do I see what the store looks like so I can make changes if need be?....nevermind I see the link, thanks.

there is a web link towards the top somewhere that takes you to the site... or you can go in via the stores tab at the top of this page then look in the section you have listed your store in
