View counters! (Thank you Boyz!)

Well I don't know just what they've done, but my items have been showing a realistic number of 'hits' for about a week now.

This has resulted in a steady increase in sales - Thank you!!!

I'm thrilled to hear that the counters might be fixed, because I know how annoying some people have found it, and I believe anything broken on a site is bad news, but... I don't honestly see how accurate view counters increase sales?

Neither do I really!

But I've been selling about one item a day , where previously it was one a week if I was lucky.

I have this idea that if an item has hits, it means that someone else might be interested in it as well as the person who's looking at the time, encouraging the idea to 'snap it up or someone else might'? LOL

Mine are not fixed, for example I have one listing that got 9579 in 5 seconds. now no one is going to look at a listing that so many people have looked at and not bought, I think it is very bad and they need taking off till they are fixed, we should have the option to remove the stupid ones.

The problem with the view counters may still occur on very rare occasions. The problem lies in some old software we have installed on one of our servers that cannot currently be upgraded.

The problem will be fixed when we move into our new data center in Dallas in the next few weeks. We have 18 sparkling new servers winging their way to Dallas as we speak that will give eBid even more capacity, speed and reliability.

We'll also be moving over to a much more sophisticated search environment that will ease the pressure we currently have on our database servers and free them up to help us push for much faster page loads for our least efficient pages.

This together with our new design and the Ninja Lister launch makes for an exciting couple of months ahead for eBid.

I think they mean just the hosting, or they might open an office there as well as the UK.
Moving the company entirely would probably cause all sorts of headaches, especially as the T & C we signed up to are aplicable under English & Welsh Law, not US.

The facilities are available in the UK.
there is no need to move abroad.
