    I think I'll see if I can print them onto a homing pigeon, and send them that way.

    White Doves would probably give you a better image, pigeons would give a grey cast to the images

    Good thinking! Though I'd been wondering about parrots, because they could ask the way if they got lost. Perhaps I could just print black and white on them, and they'd come out as colour?

    You actually buy postcard photo stock here in the USA. Costs quite a bit more than regular photo paper. I think photo paper would work great

    Off on a different tack, Vistaprint are offering 100 free photo postcards at the moment (+ p&p)

    Thanks for that link, I think it's going to be useful for all sorts of things

    p.s. just ordered card labels and re-use envelope labels, thanks again!
