How would you know what's typical for a Canadian?
Yes if you want to see a huge unprotected border go to the Yukon. You could walk across for hundreds of miles. That's if the bear's and wolves didn't get you first. I've been on the "Top Of the world highway" It goes from the Yukon to Alaska. A lot of raw country. Beautiful in summer. You Brits all crowded on the island there would be in awe of how much land there is here. My grand dad immigrated from England. Adventurous lad he was. He became the youngest Canadian cirnal in WW1 He watched most of his brigade get shot down around him at vimmy ridge. Remember when us Canadians came to help you guys out? Some people seem to forget that.I have relatives from both sides of the WW wars. I have no animosity to either side. War is h*ll. I don't know what's typical for a Brit, but the ones I have meet seemed like pretty decent people.

Canada is gaining both my sons, so can I be an honourary Canadian?

Eldest has been working in Vancouver for last 5 years and is now legally a 'permanent' resident. Younger son has just got his work permit and flies out end of June.

I have cousins in Winnipeg, Medicine Hat, and Vancouver Island - and they were all immigrants - and they haven't come back so life must be good

You have a beautiful country, and I can't wait to visit again.

Hmmm. Seem like we have more Canadian wannabees than Canadians. To be a true Canadian, you have to know the answers to these questions.
    1. Who is Howie Meeker?
    2. What is a mukluk?
    3. What sport did the pocket rocket play.
    4. During the silent movie era, America's sweetheart was a Canadian. Who was she?
    5. How many innings in a hockey game?
    6. What was Moosejaw's original name?

OK all you Canadian wannabees. Try to answer these questions. No help from Canadians!! If you get them all I'll swear you in as honorary Canuck!

    1. Who is Howie Meeker?

born in 1923...he was a former right winger in the National Hockey League
    2. What is a mukluk?

Traditionally made with reindeer skin or seal skin, this boot is now popular with celebrities

    3. What sport did the pocket rocket play.

Wayne McCullough..(pocket rocket) is a boxer
...apparently the rumours of his retirement are grossly exaggerated
    4. During the silent movie era, America's sweetheart was a Canadian. Who was she?

    Mary Pickford

    5. How many innings in a hockey game?

not innings - periods - and there are 3 20 minute periods

    6. What was Moosejaw's original name?

The name Moose Jaw comes from a Cree name for the place, moscāstani-sīpiy, meaning "a warm place by the river".

Or did you mean the band?

OK all you Canadian wannabees. Try to answer these questions. No help from Canadians!! If you get them all I'll swear you in as honorary Canuck!
    When can I move in?
