Thread: Google Checkout API and URL notification

  1. #1

Default Google Checkout API and URL notification

Just received 2 emails from google, dated yesterday and today informing me that they have been unable to send me notifications.

We've made several unsuccessful attempts to send order notifications to your notification callback URL, https://secure.ebid.net/perl/googlecheckout_in.cgi As a result you aren't receiving order status, risk or other notifications.
We encountered an error processing your notification acknowledgment. The error we got is: Expected serial number was not contained in request. Merchant has enabled serial number notification handshake.
As I said this has only happened since yesterday, never had this problem before.

Thanks Mel I'll change it to that see if that sorts it out.

Maybe not. I though the old URL had been redirected to point to the new one so that either would work.

The second part of the message you quoted, regarding some serial number, may be the problem. Did eBid break something in their recent database modification?

Not sure. I stopped getting payment notifications via email from PayPal over the weekend and still not getting any.

Maybe best to raise it directly with admin then.

Come to find out, after emails to PayPal and my ISP, it was a PayPal problem, of course. The timing was just the same. I guess everyone picked the same weekend to tweek their sites.
