    Default Anyone remember...

A powdery sweet from their childhood. A bit similar to sherbet but I think it was fruit flavoured.

It was called (phonetically) Kay-Lie but I can't seem to find a reference to it and am not sure of the spelling - or even if it was one word or two.

Anyone know the true spelling (or even what I am referring to)?

I can remember Sherbet Fountains which were bitter/sweet with the liquorice. My grey matter tells me there was a raspberry/strawberry flavoured powder-type substance which you may be referring to but for the life of me I can't remember its name. I used to lick one of those Kojak style lollies and then put the lolly into this powder so it stuck to it...yummy

Looks like it could be "Kali" (Kali Crystals)? Never heard of it before (probably too young as I'm more of a 'Sherbet Dip Dab' man). Good news is they're still making it

P.S. The below search link is for "Kali Crystals" rather than "Kali" as the former gives the results you were probably looking for and the latter mainly returns results on the Hindu Goddess.

That looks like the powdery stuff I was thinking of hypno.

PS A sherbet dib dab is the same as a sherbet fountain as it was known in the south.

I remember Kali, I think it was the one in the big sweet bottle, they had in different coloured layers? But yes, sucking your finger and then sticking it back in the bag, LOVELY !

Actually I do remember buying "Rainbow Crystals" from my local sweet shop every now and again...it was basically a bag full of coloured sugar (which applies to all sweets I guess ).

Thanks all. Kali is the stuff.

Wonder if I should risk some. I seem to recall it often brought me out in something like heat bumps when I was a kid.

I think the 'Dib Dab' had a lolly in it while the fountain had the liquorice straw.
