    Default FVF Refund

I received an order but needed to cancel and refund to the buyer because the item was sold from my other selling channel. I contacted eBid trying to get back the FVF for this transaction. However, they refused to refund me and saying refund only for Non-paying buyer. Is that true? Anybody has similar experience?

Not here - and I am in agreeance with Ebid on this one.

I can see no reason why you should get a refund on your final value fees.

I can also see no reason why you shouldnt receive a negative feedback for non-performance.
This was no fault of the buyer, and I would be surprised if the buyer decides to attempt to purchase here again - especially if they are new to the site.
It doesnt exactly look good for ebid.

    I totally agree.

Listing one and the same item on multiple sites is risky.

I don't think you will find any reasonable person that thinks eBid should refund fees in this situation. They fully carried out their side by providing you with the venue and bringing you a buyer. The failure was yours and so should the costs of that failure be.

Sadly, as has been rightly pointed out, some of those costs must be born by the rest of us in any damage to the reputation of the site.

Refund - Now way - and yes this happened to another seller a few weeks ago.

Although we need more sellers, we need buyers to able to buy on here with no problem.

The OP has probably put that buyer off ebid!

The lesson is that sellers must learn how to manage their inventory

The long awaited API may help in this area ?

There should be selling restrictions for such poor practice

Don't list items you don't have
    My clutter

I don't play the reserve game

Your FVF is payment for ebid helping you sell your item - which they did. They upheld their part of the bargain but you didn't uphold yours. Your customer must be very disappointed and may leave you negative feedback to reflect their disappointment

Gotta put my hand up, sold something once then couldant find it anywhere so gave a refund and a gift , buyer was ok about it,

My wife eventually owned up saying she put it in the clothing bank

Wouldant have the front to ask for a FVF.

You are very lucky you received a positive FB for this transaction.
