I haven't followed the links, but just got this email and it seems to be using the EBID name - I will pass it on to the boys to see if they should be following it up

Looks like it is genuine.Just Googled them and it is a company called RUD Technology Group. Not sure why they use ebidled, maybe eBid should take it as a compliment that people want to jump on the bandwagon and try to be associated.

Could be. It was just the phrase "Now our Ebid Company" that struck me as odd and perhaps against copyright. Or did they get my email address from Ebid

EBIDLED.COM was registered with GoDaddy.com in March this year.
They are part of the RUD LED TECHNOLOGY GROUP and appear to offer lighting solutions to a variety of situations. It does not seem that they are trying to pretend to be part of eBid.

I think it may just be a coincidence that you are part of this site and got that email; most people wouldn't make the connection.
