What did you buy elsewhere and why?

I thought it might be interesting to see what buyers might have looked for on eBid.net and ended up on some other online site to buy.

It might give sellers an insight to what they might be able to sell on eBid.net

I'll start it off with a few things that I have recently bought.

WIND CHASER REMOTE CONTROL (for a stand up floor fan I bought at a yardsale) $13.00

Elixir Style 22 x 22 RV Escape Hatch Vent (a replacement vent for my camper, been looking for 2 years for this) $78.95

SERVICE MANUAL 1993-98 YAMAHA KODIAK ATV YFM400FW YFM400.(Needed it fast, found one in Canada that got here in 3 days) $35.00

All 3 of these items I looked for on here first, but could not find.

I often find that either eBid does not have what I want or the sellers here are asking far more for it than other sites have it for.

Often - but not always - sellers here also don't help themselves with poor or non-existent descriptions,* bad or missing photos and high shipping costs. (Yes, I know that sellers elsewhere are also prone to such mistakes,but we're discussing eBid ATM.)

* Book sellers seem to be the worst. What is the point of listing 100,000+ books if the description is either missing or so poor the potential buyer is put off?

I do like to help eBid sellers by buying from them, but if they won't even help themselves, how can I?

Obviously it doesn't help to be so negative, but you did ask.

I looking to buy many movies on DVD and I look in here first but hard to find for what I looking for….
In the future I will buy from here doesn’t matter where is seller from and of course if is selling original release…and if is price at least same like on other bigger auction site or cheaper I will not buy if is price higher from exactly same DVD like on other site…so…sellers of DVDs can contact me for the list of the movies I like to buy…and if have just list for auction in here and I will buy right away...(remember I will not buy from ouside of auction site)

I have just bought a whole bunch of eco-friendly and cruelty free cleaning products.

I won't mention the brand but I will say I looked here first and was astonished to find I couldn't find what I was looking for so went elsewhere.

Malted Milk powder from Amazon.
Several used DVDs at our local flea market (at $5 each). The DVDs sold by UK sellers won't play on our equipment, and there were none I wanted from eBid U.S. sellers.
Soft leather slippers from a mail order catalog.
Two pairs of casual slacks from a company's website. I couldn't find my size here.

On the other hand, I found flea medicine for my cats and small sized padded mailing envelopes, both at reasonable prices, both from new sellers here. And I did buy some DVDs here a few months ago. So it's happening, slowly.
