Thread: Has anyone else received this email?

Default Has anyone else received this email?

    Hi AlloftheAbove,

A substantial number of your items being listed for sale at Google Shopping are resulting in non-performing click-throughs. Meaning people are paying to view your listings but are not purchasing items.
This maybe because of a poor associated description, non-appealing images or, that your pricings are out of sync with similar products at Google Shopping.
Your present My eBid > My Defaults > 'eBid to Upload my BuyNows to Google Shopping?' has been reset to 'NO'. Your items have temporarily been removed from Google Shopping due to non-performance.
The reasons for the changes are numerous but are based on community feedback and also structural changes at Google Shopping which is no longer a free service.
We would like to see you succeed and for this reason we would suggest revaluating your products and uploading again. We reserve the right to remove the items indefinitely.
Recurring paid subscriptions or a Seller+ Lifetime cancellations will be calculated and refunded on a Seller+ 7 day prorated past subscription'. We are able to refund your remaining Seller+ credits if applicable if you wish.
However, at this stage we would urge you to review and qualify why your listings, after receiving views are still not selling and adjust.

    Best Wishes

    No I haven't received it.....but ye gads it's a bit OTT!

What are you expected to do......pin folk down to the floor & wrestle the cash out of their pockets?

This smacks of tactics that the "other side" would use.......and I don't like it....I don't like it one bit!

No. Sounds like correspondence from the darkside. :-(

Some of the things happening here are beginning to make uncomfortable. First I find out eBid is stopping new buyers from making purchases without going through a vetting process, one that would make me leave if it happened to me.

Now I see this. They want sellers to list a lot, to get their listing count up, and now they penalize a seller because . . .too many listings being checked out by potential customers? The more we list, the more browsers we'll get.

I checked a few of the OPs listings and don't see any glaring problems. How about sharing the criteria for these decisions, guys? Maybe let us select which of our items to upload to Google shopping if you think we need to be limited? How about some warning instead dropping the boom like this?

This is beginning to feel like eBay.

Is that message a straight copy/paste because the line "Meaning people are paying to view your listings but are not purchasing items" isn't right.

You are correct.....it dosn't make sense!
Roughly translated it means that eBid are paying Google when potential customers are viewing your listings, but not making any FVF's from a sale.

eBid have always been in a league (the bottom one) of their own when it come to typed gobbledegook - don't suppose that will change anytime soon.

Anyway, back to this "issue", my cage has been well and truly rattled - but deep down I really hope that this officious diktat is the work of some over qualified (under common sensed) new office clerk.

I still have thousands of listings to add, so I will be watching this with great interest.
Meanwhile, any more listing is on hold.....because we could be standing at the top of a very slippy slope......headed straight for the bottom!

I have to say this is scary. Some of my listed items have been around a while and when I begin to think that maybe it should be removed, it gets bought, so I keep things as they are.

Has your defaults/upload to google shopping been reset to No?

The grammar is off in that message, thats why I ask. "pricings" is incorrect spelling… no such word. There are a few commas missing too.

I would have been very suspicious of that email and checked my eBid account, changed my password and probably asked here if it was spoof.

Not good really because any one who sells collectable items will know, your listing is waiting for the right buyer to come along and then it sells. We are not all selling widgets that are stacked high on the shelf. So we will have a few listings that will go stale, then suddenly sell months later. Google seems to be weighted against rare items/collectables or just one-offs.
I remember everything, even what happened tomorrow.
