Thread: First time ever - live streaming of Helston flora day 8th May

  1. #1

Default First time ever - live streaming of Helston flora day 8th May

I'm so excited, for the first time ever, they have put up three cameras in my home town of Helston so people can watch the dancers starting off on flora day. Such a shame it is forecast heavy rain tomorrow !

    http://www.visithelston.com/live-stream/

Word of warning camera three is on the guildhall where the dancers start off but it has no sound as it is near a residential flat so you need camera 1 or 2 going at the same time so you can hear the music from the band.

Morning Dance : Starts from the Guildhall at 7am
The Hal-an-Tow : Starts on St John's Bridge at 8:30am
The Children's Dance : Starts from Wendron Street at 9:40am
The Midday Dance : Starts from the Guildhall at 12 noon
The Evening Dance : Starts from the Guildhall at 5pm

Make sure you catch the children's dance as it goes past the Guildhall with children from all the different schools in the town dancing in white and also the midday dance with all the beautiful dresses and top hat and tails !

I've danced them all apart from the 12.00 !

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.

Lol, I was thinking that too ! Such a shame about the weather, still it could be worse I can remember one flora day back in the 1970's and I was walking down to start the dance in my flimsy summer dress and snow flakes were coming down !

It's a pity they haven't got a camera in Meneage Street too as the first dance and last dance go in and out of the shops and houses along there.

Is anyone getting a good picture on camera 3 by the Guildhall ? Mine is giving a really jerky picture.

Lol, I just read on the comments that the internet in the house where it is situated isn't fast enough - typical Helston ! They say they will be improving it for next year.
