    Default Move Store Sub-category ot be a Parent category

    Anyone know if you can move a bunch of Store Sub-categories (lots of listings in them) to be Parent categories?

    Thanks http://www.ebid.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

    Not sure as far as moving - I know deleting them as subs and renaming them as parents would likely work, but beyond that, just moving them, I honestly don't know.

    Bumping up for expert advice.

    Best wishes for many sales to all,

    Thanks. I wonder if deleting them will loose all the listings in the deleted category. Or if I would have to go through (100's) all the listings and reset them to the new parent category...

    Maybe I should create a new temporary store add a few listings and try it to see what happens. I'll have to think about breaking any EBID rules first.

    Thanks

    You won't loose the listings what you should do is;

    Create a new parent category under any old name.
    Go to bulk edit search for all items in the sub cat your going to delete.
    Bulk edit the items and move them to the new parent.
    Delete the old sub.
    Rename the new parent after the old sub.

    Long winded when the system should allow a simple move.
