Having switched from the dark side :-)

Hi to anyone who is listening or reading.
I have recently moved from the Dark side and started to use this site to sell off lots of a large collection of almost everything. Mainly cig cards and postcards.
Not sure if it is me or the wrong time of year but it seems so quiet, a few lookers but nothing is moving.
On the dark side I used to get at least 10% of items for sale sold in 10 days.

Please tell me it's quiet cos I is getting paranoid.

You're not paranoid. There isn't as much traffic here as at the Evil Empire and you do have to do a bit of marketing to get sales most of the time. It's slow for me at the other place too the last couple of months. People are freaked out about gas prices and the economy, food, shelter...

Email old customers to let them know you're here, use Facebook, Twitter or any other social media sites you may be on.

From what I have seen, that type of collectibles seem to sell quite well on ebid.

Obviously when you joined ebid you knew there were less members, so that means less sales.
But as you also know we are the second biggest site, so we all need to hang in for the long term.
And as others have said, there is a world recession on right now, everyone wants to raise some extra cash, as you say you do.

Do you use the Plug Your Auctions thread ?
At least with ebid it costs nothing to list your items.
Are you running them with a BIN ? so they rise to the top of the listings and get fed to GPS ?

Relax - you have only just joined ebid!
Some people sell in the first week, some no sales after a year!

Could I suggest that you tidy up your spelling and grammar in your About Me page ?
I hope your listings use good English.
You only have 15 listings on ebid.
How many do you have on ebay?
Have you listed some of your best stuff on ebid to get sales going ?

Have you tried the Plug Your Auctions forum to get your self known?

Best of luck, they key is to stay with ebid for the long haul, as we are growing steadily otherwise everyone will be subject to ebays rules and fees.

- it is quieter than fleabay, but here are a few suggestions, I hope you dont mind

1) buy a small item or two on ebid, that way you get a little bit of feedback. Once buyer and seller feedback builds up you get more sales.
2) use your social networking (myspace/ twtter/ facebook/ ehatever you like to use) and website, if you have one to promote your sales.
3) tell your regular buyers from Fleabay that you are now selling on here.
4) Use the forums and add a link to your stores as a signature to your posts.

and of course, welcome tp Ebid, and no, dont be paranoid.
