this page , its not likely to copy and paste well but this is page causing confusion imo ..

in fact it looks a lot less confusing as written below than it does live on the page
remember my customers are coming in not knowing about ebid , they will want to join quick and buy
the item im directing them to.

maybe a pop up on the upgrade page , with a message saying ignore
this and go shopping now < or something ???????????? .

You are most likely right aep. But if we want Gazza to investigate and fix it, he needs to know specifics of where and what went awry. Your last two posts may give him some clues to work with.

In my many years as a retailer, one thing that came through loud and clear, is that people do NOT read. I have been asked many question on my policies that are clearly stated on my auctions. I would suggest that it be made perfectly clear to the new person whom is signing up that their FREE BUYING account has been set up and is ACTIVE. NO PAYMENT REQUIRED. Take the buyer upgrade blurb of off the sign up page. Just put a sentence on the bottom of the buyer sign up page stating something to the effect that if you want to sign up for a sellers account please click on this button. Then take them to a separate page to sign up for a sellers account. It appears that people are confused with the sellers fee on the buyers sign up page. Just my opinion.

Most new buyers now use our checkout flow system which removes the need to register separately for an account at eBid.

After clicking BuyNow they can enter their email or use the Google/Facebook/Yahoo buttons and are taken immediately to a delivery address form where they enter their address and then go through to make payment.

We added the new system quite a while ago and it is used by the vast majority of new buyers coming to eBid for the first time.

Difficult for me to add to this thread as I signed up as a seller immediately. When making a purchase it was easy as 1, 2, 3.
Wait! Shouldn't it be the same if someone new (who realistrealistically has been brought here by the sellers listing)?
Give folks the option you want to buy and pay or would you like to become a member?
Buy and pay...let em, no questions asked.
Become a member....then present the rest.

Don't know about anybody else but when I buy I want to pay and get on with it. A sellers payment facilities and business savy should handle the scammers.

We are in a world of fast pace automation. Look at what the fast pace automation has done to my word realistically shown above. I don't stutter when I speak or type.

all i can say is that this screen lost me a £130 sale yesterday , and from personal experience ive known about it for a long time , also read a few discussions on it in this forum , tbh i thought it would of been cured but yesterdays email from potential buyer/member proves the problem still exists.

i just re-started all my businesses since moving back from portugal , i intended to make ebid one of my primary sales sources , i need to know this is going to be solved , i cannot afford to have new buyers put off
this could of happened many times before where the buyer has just not bothered to contact me.

i intended to have a minimum of 1000 listing by the end of june and to write ebid into my wesites and adverts at GREAT personal expense
im also trying to push other businesses i know who do similar to use ebid as the more parts on here the better it is for my type of business .

but the first sale through ebid hits an hurdle .

i need to know this is going to be sorted before i invest any more time and money , if not ill have to re-think .
