SIL cooked a ham (gammon) roast in pineapple and orange juice on top of the stove in a deep pot for Christmas. I would add some clove or allspice. Everyone said it was really tasty.

My mother-in-law would take good ham and cook it with onion and pinto beans all day on top of the stove...............the beans make good use of the salt, and the resulting stew is delish!!! I do notice, tho, that bacon over here is MUCH saltier than in the states. I don't eat ham or bacon, so don't know if ham is the same here.

Also, a ham roasted in the oven..................with a touch of water, and covered with foil is good when you add near the end of cooking, a can of pie cherries..............mmmmm

Also good covered with a mustard and brown sugar paste as a glaze when baking. mmmmmm

Almost makes me wish I ate red meat!
