Banner or logo ?

What's the difference between a banner and a logo please ? on Ebid I mean.
I'm just trying to build a store and I 'think' I've uploaded a logo correctly, although I have not been able to see my store yet.
But I've seem some stores with a full width 'banner' right across their stores, I like this and am wondering how it is done.
Incidentally, is there any way to 'view' a new store before putting it online ?

If you don't see the kind of thing you want then send Jan a private message via the forums and I'm sure she would design something for you.

I don't think there is a way to view your store before it is online but you can always hit the off button if it doesn't look right. Remember you need to put an item into your store to keep it live otherwise it will disappear again after a while.

Is a Banner, what is referred to as the 'background' - ?

A banner goes the entire width of the page at the top of your shop and also appears on your about me page so people can click on it to enter your shop.

The background is part of the banner, the background colour that your design sits on.
