If you want I will explain in words of 1 syllable if that will help???
My invoice today stated - 1 July - 31 July 2007
27 Jul 20:32 (GMT) ... Final Value Fee ... -0.72
Total Debits during period : £ 0.72
Total Credits during period : £ 0.00
Total Due for this period : £ 0.72
Of which VAT @ 17.5% : £ 0.11
I am fully aware that the £0.72 is for the gallery fee i.e. 2% of the selling price of £36.
36 x .02 = 0.72
Basic maths. Perhaps you need to get a calculator now as well as a spell checker???? Although it does say FVF, it obviously means FVF + any other charges such as gallery pictures etc.
Therefore by my book - charge for gallery = £0.72 FVF = £0.00, total to pay = £0.72. If I had not had the gallery picture my FVF would have been £0.00 (nowt to you)
Unfortunately it is all added together and called FVF, which theoretically is incorrect, perhaps Final Auction Fee ought to be more appropriate. But it would appear the majority of people understand what is meant anyway.
Just take everyone's advice and read what you are getting into before engaging brain.
By the way, well done on the sales, its a pity selling makes you so grumpy.
I've NOWT (nothing) more to say.
