Web hosting - Recommendations needed please.

I am looking for a web hosting company to host my web site and was hoping to get recommendations from people you have used in the past or are using now.

I only want to start off small with the hope of increasing my bandwidth should the website take off.

So all help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I use bitshack.com have used them since 2002 without any problem, the lowest price is $52 a year, I cannot remember them ever having any down time.

I went and looked at them, I used the live help and it took ten minutes to get an answer to "What is the set up fee?", so that made me a bit wary.

I would prefer a UK based supplier, and I have just looked at these and clicked on the UK link and all it shows is ISP and broadband suppliers

Yes they are now in Austrailia But if you ask a question you get a reply pretty quick. They did start out in the UK in the lake district I believe and merged about 3 or 4 years ago, hence the co.uk. no problem, just letting you know they are good, I wouldnt change from them.

I've been with GoDaddy.com for several years now. Good price for what I get including my own email accounts - never had a downtime problem as yet and the customer service is excellent (even emailed them once to call me with a problem I had in 2006 - and they did, at their expense).

they did have a few probs a while back, & there was some downtime, but they sort things very quickly.
Support has been fast & relevant when I've needed to contact them.
Their prices are pretty good too.
