1) eBid don't allow duplicate listings. This is better for both buyers and the majority of sellers. It means potential buyers aren't faced with page after page of the same item from the same seller and smaller sellers' items aren't hidden under bulk uploads from large sellers.
2) eBid don't allow fakes. Okay, I'm not saying that there are no fakes on eBid, but any that I (and many other members) see, are reported and removed. cqout claim not to allow fakes but only the registered rights owners can request their removal and they have to pay for the privilege (£40 per month service charge plus £2 for each and every item removed). I've just done a quick search for 5 of the main brands that are copied and came up with 7,590 items. Rolex 1,957, Gucci 1,509, Tiffany 1,502, Louis Vuitton 1,397, Chanel 1,225. Can you imagine how few listings they would actually have if they got rid of those and all the other fakes, the OEM software and the pirated CD/DVDs?
Personally, I would rather buy and sell on a CLEAN site, even if that does makes it look smaller.
