computer wiz kids - advice needed please

getting a notebook laptop, I use virgin broadband 4MB on my pc so I will need a cable router for the laptop but which one ????


A virgin router £40.00 adaptor £20.00 & laptop card £20.00

been looking at argos/currys/internet etc. cable router prices range from £30.00 - £120.00 adaptors & cards start around £20.00

do I need to buy a wireless adaptor & laptop card as well ?

also

laptop is 'vista home' & my pc is 'xp' will this make any difference ?

I have a belkin router the modem is pluged into the router, dannys computer is pluged straight into the modem, the downstairs computer has a belkin dongle in it to pick up the signal from the router, and both the laptops are wireless so did'nt need anything.


i simply pluged and surfed


belkin routers have a life time guarantee, if anything happens you just phone them up if they cant fix it, they send you another one

Our 8 machines are plugged into a hub which goes to the router.

I would have spent £'s on unnecessary cards & adaptors and one big headache when I wouldn't have been able to get them set up.
