I hated the bread pudding. They used to make me eat it. Then i was sick all over the teacher.Never had to eat it again.
Reincarnation is just another repeat
I know you were sick on purpose!!
I worked as a lunchtime supervisor (aka dinnerladies) in an infant school for 14 years. We didn't force them to finish the food, but they had to have a taste. And there were always 3 choices
Playing 'tinker, tailor, soldier, spy' with the plum stones after having plums and custard.
Also remember squares of sponge pudding with this revolting pink icing that seemed to be made from pure margarine, granulated sugar, and food colouring. I used to scrape it off the sponge. One day an infant teacher told me I mustn't waste food and made me eat the stuff I had scraped off. I'm going to blame her if I get blocked arteries later in life!

I don't know how you all do it, I can just about remember this morning's breakfast.
Liver, bacon & onions was one we used to get too, aswell as mince pie in squares. There were other things, but I can't remember what they were.
For puddings I remember bread & butter pud, jam roly poly, chocolate cake with chocolate icing and pink custard. I also remember pink icing, but can't remember what it was on. Prunes in rice ... yep, I remember them too. I used to keep one of the stones in my mouth and chew it for hours afterwards (no wonder I have chipped teeth). In the summers, cos Dad and me would have the garden in full swing, I remember taking a packed lunch of 4 slices of bread with proper butter, a packet of crisps and spring onions from the garden. My own DIY sandwich kit.
I don't remember disliking anything, except suet dumplings. Mother used to make them in something or other. Even the dog didn't like them so they must have been bad. But, as was the habit of the day, if you didn't clear your plate, you didn't leave the table, so to get back out to play or create mischief likes and dislikes didn't come into it. It was a case of 'eat it quick to get out of mothers way'.
I also remember in secondary schools having buy dinner tokens, queue for dinner, pass token to dinner lady in exchange for a plateful. I think the tokens started at 15p when I started secondary, and were 25p when I left.
