Thread: Newbie Question Re: Bids on items

Default Newbie Question Re: Bids on items

I am new here and I have a question. I perform a search and get a list of results. Is there a way to tell if any of the items in the search have bids on them, without actually clicking on the item? I shouldn't have to click on the item to see if there are bids. If this is the case, then this is a major flaw. On the "other" site, I hear that people like to bid on items that already have bids. You should be able to tell if an item has bids without clicking on it. You will get more bids if you can tell if items in your search already have bids. Am I wrong, can you tell if an item has bids without clicking on it?

You can not tell if items have bids. This has been a suggestion different times on these forums but has not been implemented yet.

Welcome to eBid and good luck with buying and selling.

Personally I like to bid on items with NO bids so I know the seller has no shill bidders. (happens a LOT on FeeBay)

If you go to the main page and click on POPULAR AUCTIONS
this will take you to all the auctions that have bids.

I believe the items with bids are chosen at random for the 'popular auctions' feature, as available space is limited.... yours may already have been on .... or may still be to come.

yeah- I dont think it shows all items with bids, and it does seem random - some items have just 1 bid.. and I wonder if we check enough, if some items may have 0 bids, but are listed as popular because of the number of *views* (which seems to be the consistent number on the list- high view count)
