went to little ones school play this evening and saw the lads mum and she wont look me in the eye.

however the little thug is behaving now doesn't alter the fact that for them to ignore an "urgent" call from a parent is utterly disgraceful. Don't be afraid to stand up and be counted as they say - as others have advised, do go down to the school and refuse to leave until you see the relevant person and get a satisfactory explanation.
Such high handed arrogant behaviour makes me see red.
