Just looked on there. Fantastic recipes but I am unsure what a cup is as a measurement

    Fudge

18 oz of chocolate you can use what ever kind you like. I used chocolate chips like you put in cookies.

14 oz of the sweetened condensed milk

Heat on stove slowly until the chocolate is melted into the milk. remove from heat stirring vigoriouly

Add 2 tsp of vanilla, if you want a bit creamier, add 1 tsp butter too

you can add 1 cup of nuts if you like that

mix together and put in buttered 8 X 8 pan and put in frig to set up
This a yummy fudge recipe and so easy.Give it a try

You can get a set of US measuring cups from www.lakeland.co.uk - (and probably other places, but thats where I got mine!)

Hi, I found this, it should help:

    U.S. to Metric Capacity 1/5 teaspoon = 1 ml 1 teaspoon = 5 ml 1 tablespoon = 15 ml
    1 fluid oz. = 30 ml 1/5 cup = 50 ml 1 cup = 240 ml 2 cups (1 pint) = 470 ml 4 cups (1 quart) = .95 liter 4 quarts (1 gal.) = 3.8 liters Weight 1 oz. = 28 grams 1 pound = 454 grams

That is right - but unfortunately not very practical - you really need a set of measuring cups.
I use some Australian recipe books (Australian Womens' Weekly) and most quantities are in cups, so thats why I bought them.
Always have them in charity shops as well!

Thank you both. At least it gives me some idea of quantity.

Now I can go look properly at the recipes.
