Thread: Postage updates?

  1. #1

    Default Postage updates?

Prices for postage were increased by La Poste as from 1st March here.

Just as I thought things were going well on ebid the changes are a bit of a blow as there are now different tariffs for objects and papers. None of my packets are papers so anything less than 200gm now costs a staggering 3,50 euro to post first class or 2,50 second class to UK. Used to be between 0,65 euro and 1,50 euro first class. Of course this means that quite a few items eg up to six fat quarters of fabric can be posted for the same amount so I hope customers will realise that!

I am now ready to add the new rates and an explanation to my listings. Is the only way to do this - export all 560+ listings, edit the spreadsheet, delete all listings and then bulk upload the spreadsheet? Any quicker way - or less risky! ?? Any advice gratefully received...... Thanks

I don't know if this is possible - but can you do a 'holiday' type announcement to cover all of your listings - ie put something like 'please note that postal prices may have increased slightly since 1st March' ?

Not very satisfactory, I know, but could buy time until you can do them manually!

(Speaking as someone who has just done 350+ edits manually!)
Why not take a quick look at my Stores?

There are plans to have a bulk edit facility available for members but until then the easiest way to update your p&p is to send a begging email to Da Boyz. If you have standard text on all your listings they can do a 'search and replace' to add your explanation.

If you want to do it yourself through the bulk upload but are nervous about it, close your listings instead of deleting them and they'll still be available in your 'unsold' tab.

Oh Heck! I'm off to Neuilly le Brignon tomorrow for 3 months.I've closed all my listings temporarily until I get there and review what I can sell without charging the earth for postage. See you all later.

I've spent all morning getting an excel spreadsheet ready with all the new postage costs. What I hate is how airmail changes every 20 grams but surface mail changes every 50.
