    Default Collectables/Toys & Games

Collectables/Toys & Games is fast approaching 1000 listings. Any chance of dividing it up into:-

    Collectables/Toys & Games/Toys
    Collectables/Toys & Games/Games

Looking at the current category content it might also be a good idea to further split the first category 'Collectables/Toys & Games/Toys' into three subcategories:-

    Collectables/Toys & Games/Vintage Toys
    Collectables/Toys & Games/Recent Toys
    Collectables/Toys & Games/Soft Toys

There could be hundreds of subcategories for this section (e.g. Meccano, Lego, tin toys, bagatelle, battery op toys, clockwork toys etc. etc.) but this arrangement would allow a separate space (short term) for the genuine vintage toys which so many people collect.

Not as simple as it sounds, all our current 2nd level cats would need to be housed within one of the new ones.

Not sure I understand that. Does it mean you would prefer to add a full range of categories even if some of them ended up fairly empty short term?

If so something like the following would be ideal.

    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Games & Puzzles
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Tin Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Clockwork Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Battery Operated Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Space Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Construction Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Bagatelle
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Soft Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Recent Toys
    Collectables/Toy's & Games/Other

I'm just hoping for a place to put genuine vintage stuff where it won't be swamped by modern 'collectable' toys (Beanies, plastic figures etc.) really.

Hi Gazza. It's a start but it really could do with some more expansion. Vintage toys are a big area of collecting. There's lots of money changing hands at toys fairs across the country on most weekends. I've sold lots from the eBid category as it is so I don't have any real complaints. I just wonder if the lack of categories is what's preventing other sellers moving in (as appears to be the case with comics).

I'll have to look and see what you've done, but not sure where to look. I have lots of vintage star wars and gi joe items to list. Thanks.
