When figures like '75% of voters aged under 24 voted for Remain in the EU referendum' are stated, how do they know that? I thought votes were anonymous, so how do they know the age of each voter and, more importantly, how they voted? Or is it simply a case of creating a figure to suit the case those giving it are trying to make?

I filled in several YOUGOV surveys before the vote including one survey when I was asked how I voted.

The survey asked my date of birth so it's likely those figures came from the results of surveys and not from the actual voting results

So totally meaningles assumptions extrapolated from a small sample, then? Yet bandied about as facts by those it suits.

Can't believe the UK voted to leave the EU, what a shame , I do a lot of business to the USA and EU and it's affecting me monetary wize already. I hope it gets better but i don't see it, When Scotland and Wales become independent and join back into the EU it's going to be a right mess.

I expect it's also affecting eBid right now also. eh Gazza / Mark ?

Have sold 6 items (not on eBid, but not on evil-bay either) in the last 2 days - low £ good for exports.
Bring it on!
Suggest we wait and see where we end up when we are free of a restrictive, limited market.

The value of what is sold is less...therefore if you sell the same number of items, you receive less; you have to sell more ​items, so it depends entirely upon what you are selling and the kind of market you are in.

yes if we find a nich market, the knock on effect would be are own extractive industries to feed the steel industry would become viable again
