Thread: To help eBid everyone should email your ebay customers...

  1. #1

Default To help eBid everyone should email your ebay customers...

I have started a program to go back through 5200 positive feedbacks on my ebay account and email 20 a day (that is the max before the gestapo ebay tactics kick in and say you have reached your limit) and notified them that I have moved to ebid and explain WHY I think it is a better account....

Anyone who still has an account with ebay needs to do this... if ALL of us emailed 20 a day, of our past positive buyers, we could send a BUNCH of new business ebid's way....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - take a few minutes a day to start back-tracking through your old ebay buyers or sellers and let them know about ebay! its very fast as you copy your first message and then simply paste it in each of your messages -
inform them about the MUCHO LOWER POSTING PRICES AND NO FINAL VALUE FEES ETC.... AND EXPLAIN HOW TO LINK INTO eBid...

if everyone here who use to sell on ebay does this - word will spread - ebay is dying out - their stock has dropped 50% in the last few months because EVERYONE is unhappy with their new policies - buyers and sellers alike...

give eBid a leg up with a little help!

Grab the email addresses and store them offline for use while you can!

Not something I would ever do. Any email addresses supplied to me by past buyers were given for the completion of that tranasction only. I would not use them for any purpose unconnected to that sale. I know I would be a bit miffed if a past seller to me started dropping unsolicited mail in my mailbox - however good they thought their intentions were.

Astral - you are right - I would be very annoyed if I were 'spammed' from a good business transaction.

I would not like to risk alienating a good former customer in this fashion, really.

I think you'll find that new rule came into play towards the end of last year - October, I think.

I run prize draws from my site and the data protection act has been saying that for ages.

I am not allowed to keep hold of anyone elses details for longer than is necessary for the prize draws - then I have to delete all the records unless I have permission to keep the details

Of course there is nothing to prevent you from mentioning eBid in any current transactions.

    Thanks for posting this.

On my site I have added a note saying that

'per the data protection act - your details will only be retained for the duration of the competition you have entered'

Can you say the word "woozies" - get some *balls* people - your apathy is just what is helping ebay...
I have email about 1000 with NO COMPLAINTS and about 20 messages THANKS I WILL CHECK THEM OUT!
My past buyers LOVE me... I doubt anyone would alienate someone to send them ONE message saying I have closed store and moved to ebid... they left you a positive remember because you gave them good service and a good product... of course I wouldnt email any neurtals or negatives (ha ha)

Also I have started to randomly email auction posters with high business and explain the cheaper rates etc. etc. etc..... dont forget *almost* all sellers are pretty ticked off at ebay right now...

Its your choice- since I am soooo angry at ebay I dont intend to sell there any longer, I guess I can afford to grow some bigger balls... once you cut the strings what is there to loose?? unless you too are just being a tad self-centered and greedy that you dont want to cut the ole purse strings... if you stay with ebay and complain about them then you are called HYPOCRITS... the worst that can happen is you are suspended if they catch you... multiple times your account is cancelled...

also the greed of buyers WOULD NOT stop them from buying from you,nor would they be ticked off at one message - that is just *your* way of saying I am too lazy...
